The Virgen del Socorro.
(27 cms). This is made from polychromed wood, 16th
century, of either Spanish or Italian origin. It
represente Mary at the scene of the Ascension and
received its special name from the Conquistadores as they
pressed, often in great peril, into unknown lands. Later
the baby Jesus was added to the statuette, dressed in
19th century robes.
